Grey Highlands is made up of the villages of Markdale, Flesherton, Artemesia, Euphrasia and Osprey. Formed in 2001, this picturesque part of Grey County comprised of flat lands and rolling hills includes the beautiful natural waterfalls Eugenia and Hoggs Falls, the Bruce Trail, Osprey Bluffs and the Saugeen and Beaver Rivers.
Eugenia Falls Conservation Area includes 23 hectares of glorious Niagara Escarpment, river valley and upland forests. The all-season trail follows the edge of 'Cuckoo Valley' with amazing views of the 30 meter high waterfall. Looping past a Cenotaph memorial and picnic shelter, it's a great way to spend the day and experience the best of nature.
Grey Highlands surround the "Heart of the Beaver Valley" where you can admire the breathtaking views of the valley and Niagara Escarpment. Known for skiing and snowboarding in the winter, golf, hiking and all water sports in the summer, this is truly is the place for all seasons!
Take it all in with this incredible view from 152 meters above the Beaver Valley. With just a 15 minute walk through the forest on a well groomed trail you will have your breath take away with the magical site of the entire valley. Notice the ever present turkey vultures and hawks as they soar in their hunt for prey. You might even see a someone come over the rock as it's a popular place for rock climbers.
